Westminster City Council is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join its Adult Social Care team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, providing life-changing interventions to residents with complex physical and cognitive needs.

You will deliver functional assessments, prescribe equipment and major adaptations, and work collaboratively with professionals across housing, health, and social care to promote independence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage a varied caseload of adults with complex needs

Conduct in-depth home and community-based functional assessments

Complete manual handling and risk assessments

Recommend and coordinate major adaptations (e.g., level access showers, ramps, stairlifts)

Support safe hospital discharge and prevent readmissions through timely interventions

Liaise with housing officers, surveyors, and contractors

Provide detailed clinical reasoning for high-cost adaptations and equipment

Contribute to safeguarding enquiries, legal reports, and funding panels

Provide supervision and promote reflective practice within the team

Essential Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

HCPC registered

Enhanced DBS (required prior to start)

Proven experience within local authority adult social care

Strong knowledge of equipment provision, adaptations, and relevant legislation

Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills

Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
