Location: Wokingham Borough Council
Rate: £38.97 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full-time

Are you an experienced and confident Social Worker looking for your next challenge in a dynamic, fast-paced Adults Locality Team? Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker with a strong background in supervision, complex case management, and frontline statutory work to join our busy Adults Social Care team.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support qualified social workers, promoting high standards of professional practice.

Complete Care Act 2014 Section 9 and Section 11 assessments to a high standard, ensuring person-centred, outcome-focused approaches.

Lead on complex Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, developing and overseeing robust risk management plans.

Manage a complex caseload with confidence, balancing competing operational demands.

Undertake court work and contribute to best interest and safeguarding decisions.

Maintain accurate and timely case records using Mosaic - experience is preferred, but fast learners are welcome.

About You:
Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.

Proven experience supervising qualified workers in a statutory adult services setting.

Strong knowledge and application of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Exceptional risk assessment and risk management skills.

Confident decision-maker and assertive communicator, able to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

A team player who is organised, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for service users.
