About the Role

This newly created role offers the chance to lead the strategic integration of sustainability, social value, and innovation into the organisation's procurement function. You will take ownership of the procurement pipeline, supplier management, and environmental performance reporting, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support procurement activity across the organisation, tailored to contract complexity and stakeholder needs.
  • Manage supplier compliance and drive sustainable, socially responsible sourcing strategies.
  • Oversee procurement systems including the contractor portal and contract register.
  • Deliver innovative projects that support carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental goals.
  • Procure and manage contracts to secure competitive supply deals.
  • Collaborate on funding bids and tender documentation with a focus on sustainability metrics and outcomes.
  • Report regularly to senior leaders on procurement spend, ESG performance, and impact.
  • Represent the organisation in strategic procurement consortia and partnerships.

About You

We are seeking a proactive and innovative professional who demonstrates:

  • A strong understanding of public procurement legislation and best practice.
  • Knowledge of sustainable procurement, supplier vetting, KPIs, and contract management.
  • The ability to analyse commercial and environmental data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Confidence in engaging cross-functionally and influencing change across an organisation.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body or equivalent experience/qualification.
