Butler Rose is exclusively recruiting a Financial Controller for a fast-paced business in East Cornwall. This is initially for a 12-month fixed-term contract and offers hybrid working.

Reporting into the Finance Director, this role will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, overseeing statutory compliance and ensuring strong financial controls are in place.

Key duties will include:

• Leading a finance team, including management and supporting as required
• Managing the month-end process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Statutory accounts preparation
• Responsible for financial processes and controls, ensuring they are fit for purpose
• Managing the audit and liaising with external auditors
• Preparation of tax and VAT returns
• Cash flow forecasting
• Budgeting
• Business partnering with the wider business, including senior stakeholders
• Ad hoc project work as required

The successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience of managing a finance team in a similar type role. You will be a strong communicator and enjoy working with a wide range of people.
