Transport Supervisor / Lead driver
Ref: 67a4514bfa5940dbb55b80350ffa67b5As Transport Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in the daily operation of our transport team. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll be responsible for driver coordination, vehicle compliance, and delivery execution. You'll help ensure our customers are served on time, in full (OTIF), and to the highest safety and legal standards.
Your role will include:
+ Leading daily transport operations, including planning, dispatching, and problem-solving
+ Managing driver schedules, holiday approvals, and return-to-work processes
+ Ensuring full legal compliance of vehicles, PMIs, and driver hours
+ Monitoring KPIs, addressing driver infringements, and conducting performance reviews
+ Investigating incidents and promoting a strong safety-first culture through "Target Zero" initiatives
+ Supporting training and development including CPCs, toolbox talks, and driver assessments
+ Collaborating with cross-site teams and attending daily operations meetings
+ Acting as a key point of contact for out-of-hours issues during your working pattern
+ Experience in a traffic or transport office setting would be highly beneficial. + Proficient working knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and tachograph analysis + Solid IT skills, ideally with experience in Paragon, Microlise, or similar + Excellent communication, people management, and conflict resolution skills + Willingness to work shifts and provide 6-day operational coverage Desirable: + IOSH Managing Safely qualification + Experience with bulk blowing equipment + Knowledge of UFAS and biosecurity standards + OLAT or Transport Manager CPC (or working toward)
