A respected and forward-thinking top 50 accountancy practice is looking for a motivated Management Accountant to join its friendly Accounting Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in practice, or an early-career professional ready for a new challenge, to work closely with local businesses and contribute to their financial success. This role combines bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts with the opportunity to grow your cloud accounting expertise using platforms like Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
Role Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality bookkeeping and VAT return services to a varied client base.
- Preparing monthly or quarterly management accounts and client reporting packs.
- Reviewing client data and advising on corrections or improvements.
- Providing support and training on cloud-based software solutions (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Assisting in onboarding new clients and migrating financial data from legacy systems.
- Advising clients on improving financial processes and using cloud tools efficiently.
- Supporting the accounts team in the preparation of year-end accounts.
- Responding to client queries, offering practical solutions and clear advice.
Personal Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Xero with at least 2 years hands-on experience.
- AAT qualified or currently studying (study support available).
- Experience in a practice setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to train and support clients both remotely and in person.
- Excellent communication skills, with a client-focused and proactive mindset.
- Organised, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (occasional local travel required).
