Sefton Council is seeking a highly experienced and committed Qualified Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team. This is an exciting opportunity for an expert practitioner to contribute to a progressive and supportive service, working with complex cases to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities:
Undertake complex casework including risk assessment and risk management

Apply critical understanding of a wide range of theories and models for social work interventions

Lead on the assessment and teaching of social work students on placement, supporting their professional development

Provide expert advice and support to colleagues across the team

Prepare high-quality reports and evidence to be presented in court as part of care proceedings

Work in line with legislation, policies, and best practice standards, maintaining a strong focus on person-centred care

Essential Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration

Extensive post-qualifying experience in adult social care

Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure

Strong court experience with the ability to prepare and present evidence professionally

Recognised as a source of expert knowledge by peers

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)

Excellent communication, organisation, and mentoring skills
