An established and people-focused accountancy practice is seeking a Tax Senior to join its Private Client, Trust and Probate team based in Ipswich. This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional looking to work in a dynamic, flexible environment with strong emphasis on personal development, client care and career progression.
You will manage a diverse portfolio of personal tax and/or trust clients, while supporting the wider team with compliance and advisory work. The role involves hands-on preparation and review of Self-Assessment tax returns, mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development initiatives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients, including HNWIs and trusts, with varying levels of complexity.
  • Review and prepare personal tax and trust returns, ensuring compliance and quality.
  • Provide tailored tax planning advice and support on advisory projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying potential opportunities for additional services.
  • Actively contribute to the development of team members through coaching and mentoring.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy, efficiency and professional conduct in all client interactions.
  • Assist with internal process improvements to enhance workflow and client experience.

Personal Requirements

  • Professionally qualified (ATT or CTA essential).
  • Post-qualified experience within a professional services environment, with proven ability to manage a client portfolio.
  • Experience of mentoring or supporting junior staff.
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Commercially aware with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Organised, proactive and able to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality and deliver high levels of client service.
  • Experience with trust clients desirable but not essential.
