A long-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking an AAT Level 4 qualified Accounts Assistant or Trainee Accountant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain practical experience in a supportive and technically strong environment.

You'll be part of a small, low-turnover team working with a broad portfolio of clients, from sole traders to owner-managed businesses. The firm prides itself on combining personalised client service with the use of modern systems, including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Assist with VAT returns, bookkeeping and basic tax compliance.
  • Work with cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Liaise with clients and respond to day-to-day queries.
  • Support more senior team members and participate in internal projects.

Personal Requirements

  • AAT Level 4 qualified (essential).
  • Previous practice experience is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Confident communicator with good written and verbal skills.
  • Eager to learn and grow in a client-facing role.
