Job Overview:

Mitie Fire Protection is seeking a proactive and experienced Contract Supervisor to oversee and coordinate fire door installation and fire stopping projects across various sites in London. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient delivery of works, maintain quality and safety standards, and manage both in-house and subcontractor teams.

Key Responsibilities:

The role involves supervising the day-to-day operations of fire protection contracts, with a strong focus on fire door installations, inspections, repairs, and passive fire stopping. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring clear communication and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include scheduling work programs, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure deadlines and budgetary requirements are met. The position requires conducting quality control inspections and ensuring all work complies with relevant British Standards, FIRAS regulations, and manufacturer guidelines. The role also includes carrying out risk assessments, enforcing health and safety procedures, and maintaining essential site documentation such as RAMS and site diaries. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate and manage subcontractors and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of work, maintain accurate records of
tasks completed and materials used, and report any site issues promptly. They will also assist with site audits, attend client meetings, contribute to progress reporting, and support the Contract Manager in the overall delivery of projects and performance management of staff.

Essential Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience supervising fire protection projects, with a particular emphasis on fire doors and fire stopping. A strong understanding of relevant regulations is essential, including BS 476, BS EN 1634, Building Regulations Part B, and standards set by FIRAS, IFC, or ASFP. The role requires strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail, along with excellent communication and leadership abilities. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications is also necessary. Candidates must hold a valid CSCS card, with a Gold or higher level preferred. Certification in SMSTS or SSSTS is required, and a UK driving licence is preferred to allow for site mobility across London.
Desirable:

It is desirable for candidates to hold FIRAS, BM TRADA, or a similar third-party accreditation. Additionally, experience working in a facilities management or large property services environment is preferred.
