Revenues Officer - Fully Remote
Location: Bristol
Pay Rate: £26.50 per hour (UMB)
Contract Type: Full-time, Remote

A local authority is seeking an experienced Revenues Officer to support the administration of council tax accounts. This fully remote role involves ensuring the accurate and timely billing, collection, and recovery of accounts in line with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain and assess information to determine local taxation liability, including the application of discounts, reliefs, and exemptions

Maintain and update the revenues database accurately to support prompt billing and collection

Respond to enquiries from citizens, businesses, and agents, and make appropriate amendments to accounts

Agree repayment plans and determine recovery actions based on individual circumstances, while maximising collection

Contribute to service improvement by reviewing and suggesting updates to practices, procedures, and documents

Support the training and coaching of colleagues, including the induction of new staff

Essential Experience:

Proven experience using NEC and Info@Work systems

Strong working knowledge of council tax legislation and recovery processes

Excellent administrative and communication skills

Ability to manage workload independently in a remote setting
