Equans is looking for an Financial Planning and Analysis Business Partner to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The role holder will support the Divisional Controller of Sustainable FM with Divisional reporting activities, covering all Business Divisions of the Sustainable FM, representing over £1bn of revenue preparing reporting for the Division to UK and Group.

This role will work in close collaboration with the UK FP&A team, Divisional Finance Director, Sector Finance Directors and Senior Finance Business partners to optimise the planning processes, better analyse performance and continually challenge the business.

Role to be based in Newcastle Upon Tyne or London

What will you deliver?

Performance Analysis

  • Preparation of high-quality monthly management reports for the Division and Sectors within Sustainable FM, providing senior management with visibility on budget achievement (including cash flow, overheads and detailed variance review for the business units) highlighting key trends and issues.
  • Pro-actively analyse the financial performance of the Division(P&L, B/S and Cash flow) and providing senior management with the relevant analysis for operational and strategic decision making.
  • Use data from a wide range of sources to analyse key themes and identify possible impacts on the business.
  • Challenge the business unit performance during month-end and planning processes.
  • Define, communicate and track key performance indicators in line with budget framework and top management requests.
  • Support Divisional Controller with interaction between the Division and UK FP&A team.
  • Ensure an efficient, effective dialogue is maintained with UK FP&A team such that Division results are accurately understood.
  • Ensure Division and UK Reporting deadlines are achieved, with minimal follow up actions.
  • Ensure no major errors or omissions in data reported to UK provided by the division.
  • Anticipate needs and responding to requests in an effective and timely manner.
  • Implement and optimise the controlling and reporting process between the Division and UK.

Planning

  • Support the controller in planning and forecasting activities, including Medium-Term Plan, budget and best estimates.
  • Drive efficient planning and forecasting activities, including best estimates, budget and MTP.
  • Provide senior management visibility on budget achievement (incl. risks and opportunities, contingency management, PPA impact) on all the financial indicators.

Who are we looking for?

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems e.g. SAP including ability to extract relevant information from financial models, data bases, analysis and presentations
  • Solid history of success in a similar function (FP&A, accounting, reporting, controlling).
  • Record of delivering quality performance, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver goals and reporting to tight deadlines.
  • Proven record of delivering finance process improvement activities.
  • Strong business knowledge.
  • Expertise in financial and management accounting techniques
  • Ability to influence effectively with strong negotiating capabilities.
  • Handles complexity both in scope and number of issues prioritising where relevant.
  • Sees connections in data, events and trends.
  • Analyses complex problems to find actionable, pragmatic solutions.
  • Establishes innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to problems.
  • Applies lessons learned to new and diverse problems and opportunities.
