We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our team as a Permit Issuer to join the team supporting on the coordination work related to the Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and ensuring compliance with all statutory GSK and Mitie site rules and regulations.

What are the main responsibilities?

As Permit Issuer, you will be conducting Level 1 inspections to approve permits for contractors to perform their piece of engineering work on site. You will be the focal point for meeting contractor compliance for SSoW on site in accordance to both Mitie and GSK's policies. Additionally, you will:
* Complete monitoring with the Contractor Partners to ensure the works are being carried out safely and as required by the Permit
* Ensure all Method Statements, Risk Assessments and any other requests have been reviewed and valid prior to the issue of Work Authorisations or Permits to Work.
* Assist with root cause analysis and accident/incident investigations.
* Maintain a good working relationship with the Site Construction, Safety and Technical Teams

What do you need to be successful?

You will be an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with an understanding of SSoWs, Risk Assessments and Work Authorisations. You'll have experience have experience working within a Commercial Environment and working with both internal and contractor teams. In addition, you will hold an IOSH and NEBOSH certification ideally however, training support can be provided. .
