The position is based in the Labs at GSK Barnard Castle. The Laboratory Support Assistant's role is to provide support to the Laboratory Analysts and drive improvements.

Main Duties

The role includes various duties such as waste management, administration, stock management, and eluent preparation. It involves replenishing laboratory chemicals, solvents, and consumables, cleaning specialist glassware, and conducting daily, weekly, and monthly calibrations and functionality testing of laboratory equipment. The position requires adherence to calibration schedules, completion of relevant documentation to GxP standards, monitoring fridge and freezer temperatures, archiving, and preparing boxes for keeping samples. Additionally, responsibilities include booking in samples, preparing them for shipping, and working flexibly to accommodate any urgent or unanticipated changes in plant production schedules.

The ideal candidate should possess confidence and strong communication skills to challenge behaviors and drive continuous improvement.
