Junior Quantity Surveyor - West Yorkshire

I'm recruiting for a growing, privately-owned construction business based in West Yorkshire, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with around 1-2 years' post-qualification experience who's ready to take on more responsibility and broaden their exposure across multiple disciplines. Projects range in value and scope, including elements of civil engineering, structural works, and M&E - offering great experience and development for the right person.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the commercial team across several live projects at once

  • Preparing payment applications, tracking variations, and assisting with final accounts

  • Producing cash flow forecasts and monthly cost/value reports

  • Assisting in setting project budgets and reviewing contract documents

  • Liaising with clients and attending progress meetings

  • Assisting with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

  • Administering subcontractor payments and reviewing invoices

  • General contract administration duties throughout the project lifecycle

What you'll need:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar construction-related subject

  • Around 1-2 years' experience in a QS or Assistant QS role, ideally with a main contractor

  • Understanding of JCT/NEC contracts

  • A commercially minded and proactive approach

  • Good technical knowledge of construction

  • Comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously

  • Confident communication and client-facing skills

  • UK driving licence (site visits within West Yorkshire required)

  • You must already have the right to live and work in the UK - no sponsorship can be offered

This is a great opportunity to grow your career in a business that values progression and professional development. If you'd like to know more, drop me a message or apply directly and I'll be in touch.
