Butler Rose, Public Practice is delighted to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced Accounts Senior. This growing firm, currently comprising around 30 staff, is expanding due to continued success and client demand.

As Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position also involves supervising junior team members and contributing to the smooth execution of month-end and year-end processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting activities, including ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments
  • Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and internal controls
  • Supervise, mentor, and review work completed by junior accounting staff
  • Support and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Liaise with external auditors, providing relevant documentation and explanations
  • Support tax preparation and ensure timely submission of statutory filings
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain accurate and well-organised accounting documentation

Candidate Profile

  • ACCA/ACA Qualified, or Qualified by Experience
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate or public practice setting
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and principles
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
