Salary: Up to £55k per annum

We are working closely with our valued client to recruit a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their team at the state-of-the-art terminal and blending facility in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional to oversee all aspects of terminal maintenance while ensuring full compliance with QHSSE procedures and regulations.

The Job role:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will report to the Terminal Manager and be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of maintenance at the Avonmouth Terminal. You will utilize the Terminal maintenance system CheckProof to carry out a rigorous planned preventative maintenance scheme, manage third-party contractors, and ensure the safe and efficient storage and supply of bitumen to customers while delivering business excellence through achievement of key targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of terminal maintenance ensuring full compliance with QHSSE procedures and regulations
  • Utilise CheckProof maintenance system to carry out rigorous planned preventative maintenance schemes
  • Organise and manage all third-party contractors to support maintenance needs
  • Assist the Terminal Manager in the safe and efficient operation of the bitumen terminal
  • Act as a safety ambassador, ensuring adherence to site safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Support the operation of loading bitumen into road tankers while maintaining professional standards
  • Manage and drive site maintenance activities with full adherence to Permit to Work schemes
  • Carry out risk assessments, safe systems of work, and safety documentation for maintenance activities
  • Maintain and update the site asset register using the CMMS system CheckProof
  • Develop isolation procedures for the facility
  • Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, and appropriate briefings
  • Maintain effective relationships with all site personnel including bitumen delivery drivers
  • Complete required paperwork in line with company requirements
  • Attend training courses to ensure continued development
  • Assist with import and export operations by ship and truck
  • Champion diversity and inclusiveness while delivering company CSI targets

Requirements:

  • Experience in asphalt or quarry operations
  • Electrical knowledge up to 18th Edition or EAL certifications required
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Health & Safety Awareness
  • Good work ethic with ability to work within a team
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Achievement and results-driven approach
  • Problem-solving skills with demonstration of flexibility and adaptability

  • Must be able to undertake additional duties as required by the Terminal Manager
  • Commitment to company procedures and regulations
  • Experience with CMMS systems is advantageous
