A respected and expanding accountancy firm in Southend is on the lookout for a detail-focused tax professional to join their team. This position plays a pivotal role in handling individual tax affairs and offering bespoke advisory input to a broad client portfolio. You'll join a friendly and knowledgeable team where internal development and technical excellence are valued and rewarded.

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee and finalise annual submissions for individual tax clients with minimal supervision required.
  • Review work carried out by junior colleagues, offering constructive feedback and support.
  • Assist with bespoke advisory work including capital transactions and tax relief applications.
  • Handle HMRC communication involving more involved queries or clarifications.
  • Help maintain consistent service levels across the team by supporting scheduling and workflow planning.
  • Share technical knowledge and offer guidance to less experienced team members.

Personal Requirements

  • ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience working in a client-facing tax role within a professional firm.
  • Comfortable juggling varied priorities and tight timelines.
  • Naturally collaborative, with a willingness to contribute to the wider team's success.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
