Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 (pro rata £11,000 - £13,000)

Eden Brown are seeking an experience Desktop Engineer for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire.

This is a part time permanent role to star asap for 2.5 days per week.

You will serve as the first point of contact for end user seeking technical assistance over the phone or email. Provide timely support to staff and students in the use of all IT throughout the college, provide technical support, installation and deployment of hardware and software. Answer phone calls to the service desk and log jobs all in a timely manner.

Your focus will be on providing support to business support and curriculum staff throughout the college on key IT systems, hardware and infrastructure

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
* Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
* Undertake allocated work without supervision or regular technical support
* Act as a team member and be fully committed to a team approach
* Deliver operational systems or small new project developments
* Responsible for physical security of equipment appropriate to their assigned authority
* Responsible for planning and managing small size IT projects
* Undertake procurement exercises for required services and/or equipment and engage in technical evaluations
* Responsible for customer satisfaction with your work
* Show a good understanding of your work area, providing advice on best practices
* Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels and work collaboratively with a range of people to explore new ways of exploiting the ICT infrastructure to meet business needs.
* Resolve problems with, and advising on change requests to the ICT infrastructure.
* Recommend and promote the application and continual development of technologies to improve service delivery
* Maintaining and supporting desktops, laptops and peripherals across the College
* Use the SCCM imaging system to re-image machines and deploy software across the entire estate.


Experience / Qualifications needed:

* Level 3 qualification in a related discipline, or evidence of substantial professional practice at a similar level
* Evidence of on-going professional development in the area of work and ability to demonstrate how this has been applied in the workplace.
* Service Management qualification, ideally ITIL
* SCCN experience is desirable but not essential
* Relevant experience in a similar environment/industry, preferably within an educational establishment.
* Technical knowledge suitable to provide effective user support in the field of IT infrastructure
* Demonstrate experience as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
