We're hiring Shift Engineers (mechanical or electrical bias) to join a dynamic on-site engineering team at a high-profile commercial campus in King's Cross, London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technically complex environment, supporting critical building infrastructure on a 24/7 basis.

About the Role

As part of a skilled engineering shift team, you'll be responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a large-scale, mixed-use facility. You'll also act as Senior Shift Technician in their absence, ensuring consistent standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on LV/HV electrical systems and mechanical HVAC systems.

  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues, ensuring timely fault resolution.

  • Carry out routine building inspections, including UPS, PDU, and utility meter readings.

  • Diagnose faults, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Compile accurate maintenance reports and logbooks.

  • Support compliance with current health, safety, and technical regulations.

  • Assist with installation and upgrade works.

  • Participate in the emergency call-out rota to ensure round-the-clock cover.

  • Foster strong working relationships with Facilities Management and client representatives.

  • Champion safe systems of work, quality standards, and service improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Recognised qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

  • Experience in critical or high-performance commercial environments (e.g., data centres, financial services, corporate estates).

  • Solid understanding of HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, HVAC, and general building services.

  • Confident in fault finding and using BMS/CMMS systems.

  • A team player with a proactive mindset and excellent communication skills.
