A well-established accountancy practice with locations across London and Essex is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Chelmsford office. The firm is known for building long-lasting client relationships and providing reliable finance and business solutions.
The successful candidate will manage a varied client portfolio and deliver high-level client service on time and within budget. There is strong encouragement for development within this ambitious and well-established practice.

Role Responsibilities

  • Preparation and completion of statutory accounts and year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
  • Dealing with a varied client portfolio (T/O up to £4m) including OMB's, property investors, property developers, agricultural, retail etc.
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns.
  • Preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts.
  • Finalising accounts under the overall supervision of Director.
  • Organisation of own workflow, allocation of assignments, management of time as necessary, ensuring completion within agreed time and budget.
  • Liaison with third parties as required (HMRC, mortgage brokers etc.)
  • Development and maintenance of effective client relationships, including attending client premises as required.
  • Resolution of ongoing client queries, escalating as necessary.
  • Involvement in ad-hoc client projects.

Personal Requirements

  • Experience of working in a UK accountancy practice.
  • Up to date FRS 102 & 105 accounts knowledge with VAT, corporate and personal tax knowledge.
  • Possesses client focused approach with proven experience of building and maintaining excellent client relationships.
  • Experience of working with a range of clients, ideally including corporates, property agricultural and retail clients.
  • Sense of fine detail and the ability to analyse and solve complex accounting queries in a commercial manner.
  • Excellent technology skills, including familiarity with Excel, Xero, SAGE, IRIS, Quickbooks and FreeAgent.
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines and flexible in approach.
