We are currently recruiting for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Children & Young People's Social Care and Safeguarding Service in Bury.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker ready to take the next step in their career or an established Advanced Practitioner looking to work with a forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload involving high-risk situations, including CIN, CP, LAC, fostering and adoption cases.
  • Provide expert advice and oversight on complex assessments and care planning.
  • Mentor and support Social Workers, students, and Family Support Workers.
  • Lead on statutory meetings including child protection conferences, reviews, core groups, and court proceedings.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Support service development, contribute to audits, and help implement high-quality social work standards.

Requirements:

  • SWE registered Social Worker.
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualifying experience in children's social care.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in areas such as CP, Court Work, LAC, and fostering/adoption.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and provide leadership in complex casework.
  • Able to work primarily from the office in Bury with flexibility as required.
