Building Control Surveyor - North Yorkshire

RG Setsquare are working in partnership with a Local Authority based in North Yorkshire who are looking to appoint an interim Building Control Surveyor. You will initiate and assist with enforcement action to ensure delivery of the services obligations under the Building Act and associated legislation, whilst working in a highly competitive market. In addition you will contribute to a strong and efficient performance culture with a focus on service excellent and customer satisfaction.

Your new role as Building Control Surveyor:

As the Building Control Surveyor you will support the Building Control Service and the Management Team in effectively delivering the Building Control function throughout North Yorkshire and contribute towards the objectives of the service. You will also undertake specialist or technical assessments/activities and make decisions on those assessments, using skills that would have been gained through qualifications and practical experience, to effectively deliver the Building Control function throughout the Council's jurisdiction ensuring buildings comply with the relevant regulatory standards in terms of health, safety, sustainability, energy conservation, accessibility and design.

The Experience Required:

Degree level in relevant subject such as Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction, Structural Engineering or able to demonstrate at an equivalent level. Demonstrable knowledge of the construction industry, methods, techniques and materials. Good knowledge of Building Regulations, procedures and associated Building Control functions offered by a Local Authority. Experience within Building Control dealing with a variety of diverse types of projects ranging from small domestic to complex non-domestic/residential schemes.
