Butler Rose is currently recruiting a Senior Management Accountant for a great employer in East Cornwall.

The role is within the shared services team and will take responsibility for the management accounting provision, leading and mentoring a team of accountants.

Key duties will include:

  • Managing a team of management accountants, including recruitment, coaching, setting objectives, and conducting regular appraisals
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors to support smooth audit processes and ensure all documentation is in order
  • Working closely with site-based teams to assist with annual budget planning and year-end statutory reporting requirements
  • Providing technical accounting guidance and support to colleagues across the Shared Services function
  • Leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives and project-based work to enhance operational efficiency
  • Developing and refining KPI dashboards and performance reporting across all Shared Services Centre departments
  • Overseeing intercompany transactions to ensure charges are processed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Reviewing key accounting entries such as accruals, payroll journals, and prepayments to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Approving urgent or manual payments and reviewing weekly supplier payment runs for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensuring month-end procedures are completed on time and maintaining effective relationships with site finance teams
  • Carrying out reviews of monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, and preparing full sets of accounts where required for business review
  • Verifying reconciliations completed by the team and assisting with wider balance sheet integrity and control

The successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with people management experience. You will have strong systems skills, including Excel.
