PHD EMEA are recruiting for a experienced Digital Planning Business Director to join our regional team to work on our clients large brand media campaigns.

You will oversee a team of four, and ensure they are producing excellent digital plans for all EMEA markets (four priority markets, three secondary markets, and a selection of emerging markets). Unlike many regional and global roles, your team will be doing digital campaign planning. You'll support them by raising the bar, challenging the output, and refining the process as they take the communications strategy and budget splits provided by local teams and make it tangible across digital channels.

You'll be part of a regional digital planning team of five and assigned to support specific European markets with which you'll build strong relationships. Think of this role as managing a local digital planning team, "near-shored" to the team here in London.

You will step in to support the team when the brief response needs a little extra boost. You will also be central to the conversation with regional clients, supporting their ambitions and learning agenda to maximise ad effectiveness through testing, innovation and best practice.

The ideal candidate will have prior, hands-on knowledge of biddable campaign execution and be a creative thinker, ready to apply that knowledge to strategic client challenges. You will also enjoy working with clients and bringing the latest and greatest digital thinking to the client's brand campaigns.

Digital Media Planning
* Set digital media planning standards, based on PHD's best practice, what the client has done to date, your experience, and where you see the digital media landscape going
* Help the team to:
+ Develop a thorough understanding of the target audience based on the client brief and their behaviours in media
+ Build an annual plan biddable media framework based on the client's media strategy that will be used as a guideline for each campaign response
+ Set the tactical direction for biddable channels, with specific ideas on how to activate, so the specialists have a clear brief to deliver against
+ Develop and review the tactical media plans with the activation specialists and/or local markets to ensure high quality, innovative response that is in line with the brief
* Review all large digital media tactics proposals prior to client/local agency delivery to ensure high quality
* Maximize PHD's Omni Studio planning tool to allocate budgets based on reach, efficiency and role for comms

Stakeholder & Vendor Management
* Use strong interpersonal skills and influence to effectively manage and drive forward projects with multiple senior level internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure the team develop strong relationships with their local agency counterparts, and identify any relationship/ways of working issues prior to escalation
* Utilise strong client management skills to build trust and evolve the digital media solutions put to the client
* Own and cultivate relationships with media and data suppliers to develop new solutions for the client
* Be an expert on regional media client needs, specificities and requirements and ensure vendors can deliver on those
* Proactively develop opportunities to expand the scope of digital channels and incorporate new and innovative formats and solutions
* Create compelling presentation materials that get the plan signed off first time, a research project signed off, or further trust with clients when closing the loop with a Post Campaign Analysis report

Elevate Biddable Performance & Optimisation
* Raise the bar of knowledge across biddable channels internally and externally, delivering educational sessions, contributing to thought leadership pieces and information sharing as required
* Translate broad marketing objectives into digital KPIs - pushing the team and client to proactively identify new KPIs
* Work with clients and partners on suitable testing frameworks that will answer questions that drive their business forwards
* Set the standards for working with Digital Activation specialists on optimisation recommendations, reporting and insight generation - all with the client's ultimate business goals in mind
* Contribute to key Post Campaign Analyses and QBRs
* Extensive experience in biddable channel planning within agencies, client teams or ad tech specialists * Passion for team management and development * Problem solving, pragmatic approach * Several years of hands-on experience working in programmatic, social or search biddable platforms doing the actual buying * An ability to plan holistically across multiple biddable channels * A genuine passion for the digital media industry with a focus on biddable channels * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and influence a variety of stakeholders * A creative thinker who is motivated to explore and deliver on innovative solutions for clients
