Job Description :
An exciting opportunity has arisen in North Tyneside Council's, Housing Income Team, for the role of Court Officer.
This is a challenging and performance driven role, where you will maximise income collection through the delivery of an effective court process.
You will work, as a member of a team, managing a caseload of tenancies to recover of rent arrears in accordance with current legislation, best practice, and modern recovery techniques.
You will prepare and present cases on behalf of North Tyneside Council at Court in a formal Court setting, and negotiate settlements in the interests of the council , whilst understanding welfare factors relating to debt recovery in a social housing environment, including the legal process governing tenancy agreements, and repossessions.
You will be self-motivated and productive, ensuring time is split effectively between written
correspondence, preparing cases for court action and inbound / outbound telephone contact to ensure collection and productivity targets are met.
You will need to demonstrate experience of delivering excellent customer service, with strong communication skills, good negotiation skills and a proven track record of meeting targets. In addition, you will have a can-do attitude and be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of the recovery process.
Working within Council policies and procedures, the post holder will respond to customer
enquiries in a professional manner contributing towards the departments aims and
objectives.
This is a part time role and the working pattern during training will differ once full training is given. Pattern is actually over 2 weeks half day Wed, Thus ad Fri full days @ 7.24 hours. then week 2 ful day mon , tues and half day wednesday.
