We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Qualified/AAT Accountant/Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of accounting services to their clients. This role offers exposure to a variety of clients, including SMEs, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies across multiple industries. They have a major client where you will liaise regularly and build your industry knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting/Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Assisting/Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
  • Assisting with management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping for clients
  • Supporting audits
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain records, resolve queries, and deliver high levels of service.
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new clients and maintenance of client records
  • Supporting senior accountants and partners on ad hoc tasks and advisory projects
  • Staying up to date with financial reporting and tax legislation changes

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Ideally actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, or equivalent (part-qualified) but AAT qualified with experience will also be considered.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a UK accountancy practice (desirable not essential)
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Competent in accounting software ideally Sage
