Venn Group is supporting a proactive and collaborative local authority in the South East with the appointment of a Senior Housing Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension., Working closely with the Council's Housing Service to provide high-quality legal support across all aspects of housing and homelessness law. The role will include but is not limited to:
* Managing and advising on complex housing litigation matters
* Conducting casework in the County Court, Magistrates Court, and potentially the High Court
* Undertaking advocacy and managing your own caseload
* Providing supervision to junior colleagues and contributing to the wider legal team
* Ensuring robust legal advice is delivered in line with legislation and Council policy
* Admitted Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with a current practising certificate * Strong working knowledge of housing law, homelessness, and litigation procedure * Demonstrated experience of advocacy and case management * Prior line management or supervision experience within a legal environment * Organised, conscientious, and collaborative professional attitude
