Gear Cutting Machinist

Aldershot

£16.00 - £17.50/hour (Overtime available)

Gear Cutting Machinist is required to join a high-performing team producing precision components for the aerospace and automotive sectors. Whether you're already a skilled machinist or want to level up, the team offer excellent training, modern machines, and a supportive work environment.

**Relocation package is offered for the right candidate!**

Shifts

  • Day Shift (Mon-Thu 6:30-15:30, Fri 6:00-13:00)
  • Afternoon Shift (Mon-Thu 14:45-00:00) plus 20% Late Shift Allowance

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate gear-cutting machines to produce high-quality, precision components.
  • Perform machine setups and tool changes within standard timeframes.
  • Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Load and clamp components securely for cutting operations.
  • Apply deburring techniques as per spec.
  • Use inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to check quality and dimensions.
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously when feasible.
  • Complete in-process inspections and ensure products meet the highest standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and problem-solving on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist where needed.
  • Maintain health & safety and quality compliance at all times.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar machining or manufacturing role.
  • Confident using measuring tools and reading technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Experience with problem-solving and continuous improvement practices.
  • A proactive mindset and great team spirit.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt-training will be provided!
  • High attention to detail and efficiency in your work.
