A top 60 accountancy firm is seeking a motivated and ambitious Audit Assistant to join its expanding Corporate Services team in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least one year of UK practice experience in external audit work, looking to progress their training and develop within a highly regarded, modern regional firm.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist on or lead smaller audit assignments and support senior team members on larger audits.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for a broad range of businesses under UK GAAP.
  • Gain exposure to a mixed client portfolio, including owner-managed businesses, international groups, charities, LLPs and pension schemes.
  • Contribute to planning and fieldwork stages of audit assignments.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to ensure delivery of high-quality service.
  • Study towards a professional qualification (AAT, ACCA or ACA) with full study support provided.

Personal Requirements

  • Currently studying or part-qualified AAT, ACCA, or ACA.
  • Minimum 1 year's recent UK practice experience in external audit.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Familiarity with CCH or similar accounting software desirable.
  • Good understanding of accounts preparation and basic UK tax knowledge beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and keen to travel for client work when required.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.
