Job Summary:

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people who have complex needs and disabilities, contributing to care plans that make a real difference in their lives and families.

This role requires a confident practitioner with strong assessment skills, a working understanding of Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS), and a passion for safeguarding and advocating for children with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertake complex child and family assessments, including risk and safeguarding analysis

  • Develop and maintain care and support plans tailored to the needs of children with disabilities

  • Engage with families and multi-agency partners to ensure effective support and intervention

  • Apply knowledge of Mental Capacity legislation and DoLS processes in casework

  • Make informed decisions and recommendations in line with statutory requirements and best practices

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records and court reports

  • Ensure that the voice of the child is central to all planning and decisions

Essential Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England

  • Proven experience in Children's Social Care, ideally within a CWD or disability service

  • Strong assessment, planning, and safeguarding practice

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and DoLS frameworks

  • Excellent communication, report-writing, and decision-making skills

  • A commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and the rights of children with disabilities
