Location: Eastleigh (covering Hampshire and surrounding areas)
Salary: Up to £33,331.66 per annum or £17.94 (with holiday) PAYE (depending on experience) + van + benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week

Your New Role: Floor Layer - Responsive Repairs

We're recruiting an experienced and reliable Floor Layer to join a busy, customer-focused responsive repairs team operating across Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

What You'll Do:

  • Fit high-quality vinyl flooring in wet rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.

  • Prepare surfaces with latex or plywood, and install a range of floor coverings including vinyl sheet, safety flooring, and vinyl tiles.

  • Carry out minor floor covering repairs (including carpets and laminates), ensuring surfaces are safe and free from hazards.

  • Work on a variety of domestic properties, delivering both responsive and planned maintenance services.

  • Offer customers a choice of floor finishes, manage material orders, and coordinate delivery and appointments.

  • Maintain excellent customer service standards, acting as the friendly face of the team.

  • Support kitchen and bathroom programmes with relevant flooring installations.

  • Use IT systems to record work, materials, and time accurately via PDA or similar.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrable experience in laying various floor coverings, particularly in residential/domestic settings.

  • Ability to install cap and cove wet room flooring to a high standard.

  • Familiarity with carpet grades, underlay, gripper rods, and vinyl suitability for different environments.

  • Understanding of wet room flooring systems such as AKW products.

  • Knowledge of health and safety, asbestos awareness, and COSHH (particularly latex, solvents, and adhesives).

  • A proactive and customer-oriented approach to work.

  • Ability to work as part of a wider trade team.

  • Full UK driving licence (a van will be provided).

  • Physically capable of undertaking demanding tasks and manual work.
