Ref: CL0625_1748963221As a Social Worker within the Safeguarding Front Door (Contact) Team, you will be the first point of professional contact for adults at risk of abuse or neglect. You will play a pivotal role in screening, triaging, and risk-assessing safeguarding concerns in line with the Care Act 2014 and Southwark's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Procedures. You will work collaboratively across agencies, making informed decisions based on presenting risks, mental capacity, and available evidence to determine whether a Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiry is required. You will ensure timely, person-centred, and legally compliant responses to safeguarding referrals. Key Responsibilities: Receive, screen and prioritise incoming safeguarding referrals via the Contact Team. Conduct initial risk assessments to determine threshold for Section 42 enquiries. Liaise with referring professionals, families, health, police, and internal services to gather further information. Apply the Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) approach at the earliest opportunity. Clearly document decision-making and outcomes, escalating high-risk cases as appropriate. Provide professional advice and guidance to other staff, partners, and the public on safeguarding thresholds and Care Act criteria. Identify immediate safeguarding actions or urgent interventions, including safety planning or emergency measures. Support safe and appropriate signposting or onward referrals, including to specialist teams (e.g. Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Hospital Discharge). Maintain accurate and timely case records on Mosaic in accordance with statutory and organisational standards.
