Job Title: Qualified Social Worker - Learning Disabilities/Autism
Location: Sandwell (Oldbury Council House)
Rate: £32 per hour (UMB)
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week), Hybrid - 2 office days per week (Thurs mandatory)
Duty: Once every other week (depending on team capacity)

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is restructuring Adult Social Care and launching a dedicated Learning Disabilities and Autism Team. We're looking for 2 experienced agency Social Workers to support the team until permanent staff are in place.

About the Role:
You will support adults with learning disabilities and autism, some with complex needs, helping them achieve person-centred outcomes through:

Safeguarding investigations

Mental capacity assessments & best interest decisions

Outcome-focused assessments & support planning

Multi-agency working

Requirements:
2+ years of Adult Social Work experience

Experience working with people with learning disabilities/autism

Solid understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, CHC, DoLS/LPS, Mental Health Act

Strong communication and assessment skills

Knowledge of physical disabilities and carer involvement is a plus
