Job Summary:

North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking a highly skilled Practice Supervisor to join the Leaving Care Team. This is a vital role supporting care leavers and supervising a team of Social Workers to ensure high-quality, inclusive, and outcomes-focused services. As part of our safer recruitment strategy, we ask that successful applicants work in the office at least three days a week to contribute fully to the team's inclusive and positive culture.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team delivering statutory social work to care leavers.

  • Maintain high standards of practice and decision-making in line with council policies and safeguarding procedures.

  • Provide reflective case supervision, coaching, and professional support to team members.

  • Make high-level decisions on complex cases and offer expert guidance to staff and partners.

  • Promote multi-agency working using relational practice and professional challenge where appropriate.

  • Ensure effective assessment, planning, review, and step-down arrangements, engaging all relevant professionals.

  • Uphold the Council's values of Valuing People, Honesty, Continuous Improvement, Openness, Commitment, and Integrity in all work.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England.

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a statutory children's social care setting.

  • Strong understanding of leaving care legislation, relational practice, and child development.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities effectively.
