Deputy Engineering Manager (Mechanical Bias)

* To manage and ensure safe operation of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital Mechanical & Electrical systems in a compliant, creditable manner whilst endeavouring to exceed customers' expectations
* To manage the delegated authority for the operation of the contract, whilst maintaining general overview and development of key client relationships
* Be responsible for day-to-day management of operational performance, disaster recovery procedures, health, safety and welfare of the team
* To manage and be responsible for the day work team and specialist subcontractor's performance
* To ensure the company Health & Safety policy is adhered to within the scheme of responsibilities
Main Duties
* Manage the issue and completion and responsibility for all specialist subcontractor PPM and reactive works
* Management of all records for PPM, reactive tasks, including statutory compliance and warranty certification on the CAFM system, provision of a monthly performance report, measured against the appropriate KPI's/SLA's
* Management of all HV & LV installations, authorised persons and switching schedules
* Management of normal operational procedures, with great emphasis on detailed schedules for emergency and business continuity plans
* Management of all quotations and delivery of all repairs, including responsibility for the process of specialist sub-contractor orders and completion certificates
* Maintain accurate records and budgetary control of works done including expenditure, using this information to formulate a Forward Maintenance Register
* Manage via the Supervisors PPM and reactive activities to be carried out by the site team. Ensuring all worksheets and completion records are processed onto the CAFM system
* Manage stock control and critical site spares to agreed stock levels and readiness for deployment
* Manage and record the issue, usage and replacement of PPE clothing and equipment, including calibration certification where appropriate
* Manage, administer and organise the team training needs, holiday cover and records
* Manage tool box talk requirements and performance briefings
* Manage and administer C.O.S.H.H. register and identification of appropriate PPE
* Attendance to weekly or monthly performance management meetings with the client representative
What we are looking for
* Minimum five years' experience within Building Services industry in a supervisory role.
* Excellent Management and Leadership skills
* Commercially focused and highly organised
* Managerial experience with permits to work and safe systems of work
* Computer literacy, written, good oral communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to prioritise workload within tight deadlines and to a high standard
* Requires ability to be a comfortable self-starter
* Adjust rapidly and effectively to changes in work demands or business needs
* Uses a range of approaches and techniques to influence, persuade or gain the support/co-operation of others to achieve results
* Effective communication skills with customers and to all levels of management
* HNC/ONC in Building Services Engineering (high level of electrical content)
* LV & HV Authorised Person qualified
* Computer literate with excellent I.T. skills especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Knowledge and awareness of CAFM systems
