Butler Rose Practice is delighted to support a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Wolverhampton City Centre. The firm provides a wide range of services to a varied portfolio of SME clients, sole traders, and partnerships. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Semi-Senior to join their team.

This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a diverse range of responsibilities. You will work closely with senior staff and clients, contributing to both routine and advanced accounting functions, as well as supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Role Requirements -

  • Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and SMEs
  • Assisting with the production of management accounts
  • Supervision of bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
  • Liaising with clients and providing day-to-day support
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff members
  • Ensuring deadlines and compliance standards are met
  • Contributing to the smooth running and development of our team-based approach

Person Requirements -

  • AAT Level 3 or above, ACA/ACCA part qualified, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a general practice environment
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, and account preparation
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • A proactive and professional approach to work
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience using Xero and Sage (both desktop and cloud versions)
  • Familiarity with common taxation products and procedures
  • Interest in supporting junior team members and sharing knowledge
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction
