About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Bricklayer to join the team at the London Borough of Haringey. Based at Broadwater Farm Community Centre, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality bricklaying and associated works as part of the Council's housing maintenance service.

This is a temporary role covering the period pending an internal restructure, offering a chance to work in a collaborative environment supporting residents and the local community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out bricklaying tasks as specified on job tickets to a high standard.

  • Complete or report associated tasks required to finish the job.

  • Order necessary materials and equipment to meet deadlines.

  • Erect and dismantle access equipment such as ladders and platforms.

  • Participate in the emergency out-of-hours rota (if required).

  • Maintain detailed records of work and submit documentation on time.

  • Perform vehicle checks and report any issues.

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and risk assessments.

Person Specification

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work professionally and courteously with tenants and client officers.

  • Self-motivated with good workload management and initiative.

  • Responsible and quality-focused approach to all tasks.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Bricklaying or relevant City & Guilds certification (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in bricklaying.

  • Full clean UK driving licence.

  • Valid Enhanced DBS check.
