Quantity Surveyor - Reading

RG Setsquare are working in partnership with one of the largest contractors in UK who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor based in Reading to join their new Painting division. The opportunity offers the chance to welcome a driven, people focused and entrepreneurial Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated commercial and operational team, who specialise in painting and decorating and associated planned refurbishment works. Your new role as Quantity Surveyor:

As the Quantity Surveyor you will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite. They offer a variety of works including established frameworks and core contracts with prestigious housing clients within the public, and residential sector as well as their property services covering retirement living, commercial and education sectors too. You will have full accountability of measuring and preparing cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks and mitigation for these. Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset. You will also complete and analyse weekly reporting from site, ensuring it has adequate cost information.

The Experience Required:

Proven experience in similar estimating and commercially focused surveying role. Experience of the commercial ownership of projects and contracts from tender and estimation stages through to final account. Experience of working for a painting or refurbishment contractor would be very advantageous. You will also have experience of successfully managing commercially, a total value of works up to £2 million annually, must have schedule of rates and NHF knowledge.
