Due to continued business success and expansion, an outstanding career opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Senior Administrator to join a very friendly and busy team within an established firm in either Penrith or Carlisle, Cumbria and is offered FULL OR PART TIME with HYBRID working and an exceptional range of benefits including enhanced maternity/paternity, paid overtime, Health plan and full sick pay , CIPP professional training, social events and much more!

If you are seeking to join a progressive, social, dynamic firm within an established payroll department working autonomously running your own full end to end payrolls, generous benefits, CIPP training, promotion structure - this role is waiting for you. Reporting into an Assistant Manager for training and support, the successful candidate should possess previous end to end payroll processing experience processing multiple payrolls on a weekly/monthly basis.

Role Responsibilities

  • Engaging as a proactive and effective member of a small and supportive team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of both small and large volume payrolls via IRIS payroll (knowledge also of SAGE is a bonus, training can be provided)
  • RTI submissions and HMRC liaison,
  • Processing SSP/SMP
  • Auto enrolment/pensions
  • Dealing/resolving payroll queries
  • Supporting additional team members as required
  • Process starters/leavers P45/P46/P60s
  • CIS/EPS




Person Specification

  • Ideally knowledge of IRIS payroll software
  • Experience within a full end to end payroll/payroll bureau/inhouse payroll role.
  • Strong organisation and time management
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
