East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead their Fostering Team, focusing on the recruitment and support of both mainstream and kinship foster carers. This vital role involves managing a dedicated multi-disciplinary team and ensuring full legislative compliance in all fostering recruitment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of Social Workers, Care Coordinators, Panel Members, and Independent Assessors within the fostering service.

• Oversee the recruitment, assessment, and approval of mainstream foster carers and kinship carers.

• Ensure all fostering recruitment activities comply with relevant legislation, guidance, and local policies.

• Provide regular, structured monthly supervision and support to all staff members.

• Contribute to service planning, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Represent the fostering team at panels, strategic meetings, and inter-agency forums.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

• Proven experience in fostering services and team management.

• In-depth knowledge of fostering legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice standards.

• Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
