Compliance Engineer
Ref: 7a14698d28ba437e98414e3d1f193e35Reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, this role will be an integral part of the Asset Care function within Maturation South Engineering Centre. The role will cover all Maturation South sites. The objective is to ensure full compliance in Asset Care activities. The job holder must ensure all Statutory and Legislative tasks are completed on time in full, with SAP and KPI reports updated according. The main purpose is to always be "audit ready".
The Compliance Engineer will be required to work with Site Management, Maintenance teams and Risk & Governance to ensure that maintenance activities are continuously aligned to the legislative standards.
To ensure that Maintenance activities across Maturation South conform to all Diageo policies, procedures and standards as well as UK legislation. A key outcome is to ensure zero harm to employees, conform to legislative requirements and avoid legal action, fines or damage to reputation.
Key Elements of the Role-
* Manage British Engineering Services Database of Statutory inspections / Maintenance activities. Ensure SAP and the database are up to date. Build work order for follow on tasks.
* Ensure compliance for all Legislative (LEG) tasks in SAP including Pressure Systems, Local Exhaust Ventilation, Lifting Equipment, Lightning Protection systems, HV/LV, SIL, Hazardous Inspections, PUWER (list not exhaustive).
* Management of compliance activities - Make plant available, ensure safe access, Isolations, Risk Assessment, Method Statement approvals, Permit to Work.
* Ensure all Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) documentation is completed and filed in compliance folders and audited regularly.
* Follow Management of Change system and ensure all actions are driven to completion.
* Administration and co-ordination of Maintenance systems and documentation on Diageo Systems including SAP, EQMS (Diageo's internal system), Enablon (Risk management software) and SharePoint.
* Preparation and upkeep of Compliance key metrics data and Visual Management Information.
* Supporting technical experts with document creation, survey work and implementation of standards. This includes Maintenance reviews, Management of Change, Early Equipment Management and Compliance with all legal requirements.
* Supporting Technical experts in preparation for HSE, SEPA, GAR and CARM audits.
* Safety Ambassador promoting a strong culture of zero harm. Participation in safety meetings and audits.
* Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, attending seminars, updating competency, skills and knowledge in all Compliance related matters.
* Participation in the Manufacturing Excellence agenda.
* A full clean UK driving licence.

* A recognised technical background in either a Mechanical or Electrical field is required. * A solid understanding of Health & Safety is essential, although specific training will be provided (e.g., NEBOSH, COMPEX). * Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organisation. * Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities across a broad range of subjects. * Ability to manage workload effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. * Proficiency in PC skills is essential. * Sound knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements to support informed decision-making. * A proactive approach to continuous self-development and learning. * Willingness to present materials and outline strategies to the target audience. * Ability to coach others to improve compliance and help deliver a zero-harm environment. * A flexible approach to working hours may be required to meet critical deadlines with core hours.
