Job Information
The Cleaning Supervisor will be directly responsible to the Facilities Manager for the effective and efficient delivery of the cleaning service within the school.
You will work alongside the Site Manager and contribute to the creation of a high-quality learning environment for pupils and staff that is clean, well maintained, safe and secure.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a security check prior to appointment.
Main Duties
* Act as key holder and unlock/lock buildings to provide access to cleaners as required.
* Ensure effective day to day running of the area under your responsibility with scheduling of shifts, holidays and cover.
* Review and roll out annual and ad hoc updates to Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments and Method statements.
* Carry out weekly cleaning inspections/audits and effectively manage resulting action plans.
* Ensure internal circulation and toilet areas are monitored throughout the day to maintain housekeeping standards.
* To maintain cleaning schedules and audit records to evidence compliance of SLAs.
* Program and deliver deep cleans and all ad hoc requests.
* Monitor all cleaning jobs logged through the helpdesk and address/close down within assigned timelines and SLAs. Review trends and address any routine short falls to prevent recurrence.
* To ensure that all relevant equipment is inspected, correctly utilised, cleaned and maintained.
* To attend training as required and deliver toolbox talks, training and all forms of communication to the team.
* To report reactive maintenance and damage to the site team to ensure timely repair.
* Monitor staff and subcontractor work and activities to ensure all health and safety and procedural requirements are met.
* Complete all cleaning staff annual reviews and all people management requirements.
* Assist site team in conjunction with the school staff the holding of fire drills as required, ensuring necessary roll call procedures are delivered.
* Ensure that all chemicals are stored in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* Monitor and maintain stock records and replenish on 'just in time' ordering.
* To always maintain the security of the site ensuring safeguarding measures adhered to.
* Challenge unknown persons on site and escort off site any unauthorised persons
* To wear the correct uniform, PPE and issued ID at all times.
* Maintain all Safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.
* To maintain a good working and safe environment
* To cover additional hours as required by the school and in line with SLA requirements
* To work at other sites across the contract in relation to service demands when necessary.
* Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.
* Carry out any ad hoc duties deemed necessary by Management to fulfil the school and contract requirements
What we are looking for
* Good basic education, with good written and spoken English and basic mathematical skills.
* Supervisory or management experience.
* Experience in similar role or environment.
* COSHH, IOSH, BICS training.
* Customer service focus.
* Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
* Team player with a flexible and adaptable approach, able to work on own initiative when required.
