Serco are recruiting for a Transport Compliance Support Manager to lead a compliant fleet service. The Transport Compliance Support Manager will maintain the contracts daily vehicle requirements and maintenance, ensuring all vehicles and plant are serviced and maintained to the specification outlined under the manufacturer's guidelines - with specific focus on our environmental waste vehicles. You will be liaising with our third-party service providers to ensure daily defects, breakdowns and punctures on our vehicles and plant are registered and dealt with within the relevant timeframe as well as ensuring they are compliant within the contract SLA and they follow the legislative obligations.

You will also deliver the following operational fleet requirements:

  • Proactively manage the yearly maintenance planner to ensure the vehicle fleet is maintained, serviced and managed in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.

  • In consultation with the Fleet Team develop initiatives to reduce operating costs, vehicle downtime and improve vehicle availability.

  • Ensure the driver qualification central data base System covering, driver licences, driver tachograph cards, DCPC, vehicle categories individuals are authorised to drive and any other associated driver training is accurate and updated on a weekly basis.

  • Ensure all MOT results are reported and failures investigated.

  • Support the Regional Transport Manager in the implementation of all transport related law changes, including pre-impact assessments.

  • To ensure the contract meets all legislative obligations, undertakings and requirements outlined in the Operator license. Which will also include the General Conditions covered under section 22 of the goods vehicle licensing of operators act 1995.

  • To maintain and keep updated the fleet inventory and Fixed asset register, including current asset locations, through FMS.

  • Monitor and action Road Traffic Infringement Fines.

Candidate Description

You will need to have a Transport Management CPC qualification as well as hold the National Certificate of Professional Competence in Large Goods Vehicles. Experience within the Waste and Recycling industry in particular working with waste vehicles is highly desirable.

You will naturally be experienced in maintaining large fleets and ideally hold a Fleet Engineering Certificate.

You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to articulate to a number of stakeholders effectively, at all seniority levels. We are looking for strongly value led individuals with excellent judgement and decision-making skills, who are highly resilient individuals capable of being challenged.
