Job Description

Job objectives and responsibilities

  • You will need to demonstrate a responsible attitude, attentiveness and always be approachable when welcoming all IBF site users and visitors.

  • You will be monitoring and controlling the safe movement of heavy goods vehicles inclusive of entry, parking and exit from site.

  • Accurately updating and monitoring Site Capacity by updating the PINC system with vehicle entries, parking bays and exits.

  • Have a steadfast attitude that can work in a high pace and high-risk environment, ensuring vehicles are correctly allocated as per their contents and parked within the correct zone and bay.

  • You must be confident when dealing with hauliers and members of the public and be able to react to any situation that may arise.

  • Report to the Duty Team Leader and/or Security Supervisor - you must record, report and escalate all sightings and incidents as they happen.

  • You will report any congestion or traffic management capacity issues immediately to the Duty Team Leader.

    Main duties

  • Monitoring of heavy goods vehicle, entry, parking and exit points via the PINC system.

  • Ensure hauliers are directed to their correct parking zone and parking bay as per the recognised hand signals taught in your training sessions.

  • Be always alert and aware regarding your own Health and Safety and the safety of others.

  • Comply with SOP instructions and workplace risk assessments

  • To ensure that site Covid 19 procedures are followed.

  • Ensure hauliers are directed towards the Front Office in a timely manner to process their paperwork, whilst regularly monitoring the PINC system for any updates that need actioning.

  • Be vigilant always when on site and report and escalate any concerns as appropriate

  • Report immediately any accident or incident inclusive of any near miss occurrences or damage to site infrastructure.

  • Always ensure that you wear the issued uniform and approved PPE in line with the Site Rules.

  • In the case of spillages, use the approved spill kit equipment and procedure to remedy. If in any doubt regarding the nature of the spill, always seek advice before acting

  • You must recognise and report all vehicle incidents or emergency situations and retain full control until the arrival of the response team and/or any mobilised emergency services, taking direction from your Team Leader.,

  • Always follow company policies and procedures.

  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.

  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

    Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities.

  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.

  • Report actual and suspected security incidents.

Candidate Description

  • You will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude and good interpersonal skills.

  • Be prepared to work a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift pattern inclusive of day and night working.

  • Be prepared to work outdoors in inclement weather.

  • Able to work as part of a team.

  • Flexible approach to work to suit the business needs.

  • Excellent communication skills are required to convey information via two-way radio.

  • Being able to remain calm under pressure.

  • Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act.

  • Undertake First aid and fire awareness training

  • Undertake TTMBC training

  • Undertake and pass vetting and CTC screening
