Job Description

Location: Flexible - Our colleagues who adopt blended ways of working will be linked to one of Vodafone's hub site locations in Newbury, London, Manchester, Stoke, Newark or Glasgow, while working from home for the majority of the time and attending site as required to collaborate. What will you be doing? The role of the Solution Design Manager is to provide a consultancy and end to end solution design service to the Vodafone UK Enterprise business; delivering solutions for the Enterprise Strategy & Vision and Roadmap. Managing solution design throughout the project and incident lifecycle, the design manger will support in the production of Impact assessment's, High Level and low-level Detailed Design documents, project planning, proposition consultancy, test/assurance planning and training material, ensuring that any defects are identified and resolved throughout the delivery process. As well as driving in-house technical solutions, the design authority will also be accountable for the Quality Management of suppliers to ensure that third party solutions are designed & delivered to achieve the optimum business benefits. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide design consultancy during the concept and feasibility stages of the product management lifecycle to shape requirements and align designs to key technical and customer journey design principles, Influencing key stakeholders across UK business functions to drive process and behavioural change required to support CS&O initiatives and UK strategy.

  • Own the E2E delivery and provide timely consultancy, requirements shaping aligning designs to strategic business, technical and customer journey design principles.

  • Identify the customer journey, operational and revenue implications of capability designs, providing design recommendations for informed business decisions.

  • Identify and drive opportunities for solution simplification and design simplification process improvement.

Candidate Description

  • Strong communication and decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting priorities.

  • Expertise in product and pricing and order management within billing applications

  • Expertise in telco billing and rating applications

  • Expertise in multi-channel customer journeys

  • Strong capability with the Microsoft Office and Sharepoint toolset

  • Strong management information, analytical and project management skills, In order to be successful in this home based role there are some minimum requirements that you would need to commit to:

  • Reliable internet connectivity. A LAN cable is preferable but not essential providing your internet meets the below minimum speeds: + Min Download speed - 10Mbps, Min Upload Speed - 5Mbps

  • Able to work in a private and distraction free space that must have a door that you can close to keep out noise and where your laptop screen will not be visible to others due to Data Protection.

  • You will need a desk and suitable chair to work from comfortably and professionally.

  • You will be provided with a laptop and headset, additional items can be ordered through the system upon joining the business.
