We have an opportunity for a Site Purchasing Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave. This role can be based in either Aberdeen or Orkney. The successful candidate will be based in our offices however, before Covid restrictions are lifted we are advising that our staff work from home where possible. The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for supporting the NorthLink Operations, Deck, Technical and other departments in all purchasing related activities. The Site Purchasing Coordinator must maintain effective, open and regular communication with operational and financial management, in both internal and external stakeholder organisations. Some of your duties will include creating purchase orders for ships deck and technical departments, operations team and other departments when required. Pay for purchases using OneCard and submit invoices as required, create new supplier requests to be set up on SAP purchasing system. Work with finance department to prepare and issue reports. Work with Serco accounts payable to ensure all invoices match their PO and are paid on time. Support operations, deck, and technical teams with any purchasing requirements. Candidate Description

This is an opportunity for an individual who has Experience of purchasing systems, ideally SAP. You must have strong MS Office skills. The ideal candidate must be numerate with strong analytical skills. It is essential that you have strong written and verbal communication skills. Having some knowledge of the Ferries industry is beneficial, but not essential. Overall, we are looking for a good team player and responsible individual who takes initiative and ownership. You must have the ability to identify and communicate problems and discuss various solutions.
