The media analysts will be responsible for supporting Ocado?s supplier funded media team with reporting, analysis and insight. The supplier funded media team will be responsible for selling and executing onsite media. This is a development area for the business where we are looking to revolutionise the current model.
The role of the analyst will be key in shaping major decisions through data-driven insights. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to understand media advertising (e.g., search), having a passion for using data in making decisions, and wanting to be part of an entrepreneurial team within Ocado Retail that is looking to establish a new business model for media advertising.
Gain a clear understanding of the current supplier media offering
Develop area expertise to drive understanding of the best route forward, and help shape the team?s weekly actions and long term priorities to have the greatest impact.
Analyse data to draw out the commercial implications, and present recommendations to stakeholders in an engaging way to guide key decision making.
Provide and execute ideas for driving data insights (e.g., A/B tests on trials)
Monitor business KPIs on a continuous basis and provide suggestions on risks/opportunities frequently
Write SQL queries to manipulate and extract data from our Google BigQuery and Oracle databases.
Develop and maintain a suite of reports to enable self-serving of data among stakeholders.
Act as a subject matter expert with other Insight teams when projects overlap with other business areas.
Provide perspectives on what best-in-class peers do differently in media advertising
Working with team to provide and execute concrete ideas to shape the business model
Experience working with databases or large volumes of data
Experience in visualising and presenting analytics driven recommendations to wide ranging audiences
Excellent Excel skills (high level of proficiency; but VBA not necessary)
Working knowledge of SQL and understanding of databases Preferred Experience (In addition to minimum)
Experience in a retail, e-commerce, media advertising or FMCG consumer-facing business, or in operations or logistics
Working knowledge of Tableau Competencies
Accurate and detail oriented
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Good time management and ability to deliver to plan
Keen commercial awareness and ability to understand the likely impact of recommendations
