You'll have the following responsibilities

As a Contract Security Manager, you will be assigned to customer(s), contract(s) or commercial frameworks where BT has agreed to contracted obligations. Your role will be to manage the security deliverables through reviews, in life assurance audits, management or deliverables, in order to maintain contractual compliance.

  • Support the strategy and vision for GSS in the delivery and shaping of its customer contracts, frameworks and services through your work packages.

  • Ensure the delivery and in life programmes sufficiently discharges GSS obligations, based on the contracted security requirements, based on your skills and experience to articulate what the deliverable needs to be. This takes into account personnel, physical, cyber and technical security controls.

  • Manage security assurance reviews on obligatory & regulatory platforms.

  • Accountable for delivery and tracking of risks and recommendations from reviews and audits.

  • Mapping and tracking security obligations and how they are being successfully delivered, maintaining reportable metrics for further issue and risk management requirements.

  • Maintain relevant security relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers.

  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements against your area, which includes ISO 27001 certification and Internal Audit Programmes.

Candidate Description

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, you will be required to gain and maintain high level government security clearance and be willing to undergo the initial enhanced screening. All job offers are conditional on these requirements. You will need to have UK residency for 9 out of the last 10 years and be a UK national. At least one of your parents is also required to be either a British citizen or hold citizenship/nationality.

  • Experience in UK Government Security Frameworks, ideally architecture patterns, technical standards etc.

  • A security manager with industry experience in Contract Security Management and assurance auditing.

  • Can demonstrate a good level of experience and knowledge in Risk, Audit or Security assessment methodologies.

  • Good understanding of technology, customer or commercial trends across global communication and Security industries.

  • Experience of working across a wide range of internal and external stake holders to deliver business outcomes.

  • Experience in articulating/implementing a strategic vision and translating into practical action and execution.

  • Strong critical reasoning skills for getting to heart of topics and identifying key themes and actions.

  • Preferred - Coaching - working across multiple project teams as a security consultant.

  • Recognised Industry Security Qualifications e.g. CISSP and ISO27001 Implementation and audit.

  • Membership of accredited professional body e.g. Full Member of CIISec (MCIIS).

  • Knowledge of Regulation and Industry Standards - e.g. GDPR, ISO27001.

  • Strong skills in Risk Management.

  • Detailed understanding of security assurance processes.

  • Good stakeholder management skills, possible people management experience, cross-team (matrix) basis.

  • Core competencies - Self-managing, well organised, calm under pressure, excellent negotiation skills, able to translate security risk into business language.

  • Be able to travel (as required) UK and overseas to conduct audit activities.
