Job Description:                     Project Venture Lead, Freelance Sessional

Salary:                                      3 days/week, £150/day for 3 initial months, starting asap.

Purpose of the job

 Resume Foundation has developed a major project, Project Venture. The project is engaged in promoting inclusive self-employment and business start-ups for marginalised people.  Its designed to teach and develop knowledge and skills in creating a new enterprise. We will develop new entrepreneurs and giving them the best opportunity to succeed. Project Venture’s delivery is holistic and supports the entrepreneur’s development. 

Our 3-month programme is inclusive, supportive, and is developed with the marginalised in our society in-mind, helping those with barriers to entry or are significantly under-represented to begin their entrepreneurial journey to independence and success

We are looking for an experience, optimistic, open minded and capable person whilst being able to multitask and problem solve for any possible event.

Key responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver Project Venture programme to achieve positive outcomes in line with project plans
  • Build and maintain strong and effective partnerships with universities, local and national organisations, referral partners and to ensure high quality programmes are delivered
  • Coordinate external visits
  • Lead candidate, lecturer recruitment and deliver tuition services
  • Line manages and coach Project Venture programme delivery team
  • Ensure programmes are co-ordinated and delivered to a consistently high standard across the UK through effective collaboration with the rest of the programme development and delivery team
  • Deliver graduation showcase - end of programme celebratory event
  • Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks for programme work
  • Gather accurate programme data to support programme monitoring, evaluation and development
  •  Support our policy, advocacy and campaigns work in order to influence national and local change
  • Support the development and production of marketing materials, press and PV activity with our Marketing Lead
  • Ensure that programmes fully meet internal standards for financial planning, including budget monitoring, donor reporting and contributing to funding applications as required
  •  To work within and comply with all Resume Foundation policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Code of Conduct and Equality of Opportunity
  •  Contribute to fundraising activities and co-ordinate donor engagement visits and events
  •  Represent Resume Foundation effectively at external meetings and networking events
  •  Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of developing, implementing, and delivering programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of project management - including planning, delivery, impact and evaluation
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering briefings/training to statutory services or community groups
  •  Demonstrable experience of working within a safeguarding framework and with and understanding of equal rights and equal opportunities
  • To have a genuine commitment to the values and ethos of Resume Foundation
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (as required)
  •  Willingness to travel including to other RF locations in the UK as required
  •  Prior experience of line managing staff, students and/or volunteers

Key competencies & skills

  • Project Management skills, the ability to set up, coordinate and deliver programmes to agreed outcomes, timescales, and targets and within budge
  • The ability to work as a member of a team and make effective contributions to collaborative processes and whole team events
  • Self-organising, to work on own initiative and be accountable for your own work through structured reporting
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English in order to influence a wide variety of people including senior managers, external strategic contacts and partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Developed IT skills in Microsoft Office with the ability to be self-administrating.
  •  Understanding of the Skills agenda including apprenticeships, traineeships and other learning and skills interventions
  • To have experience of managing programmes across multi-site operations and diverse geographical areas
  • To have experience of working across and knowledge of a range of business and employment sectors
  • To have experience of managing statutory funded programmes across multi- site operations
